Personal invitation to all members: Agribusiness Africa Exhibition & Conference
5 June 2008
The Agrifica and TheFarmAfrica Exhibition and Conference (AAEC) on agribusiness which is presented in association with Exhibition Management Services (EMS), will take place at Gallagher Estate, Midrand from 20 - 22 July 2008. This event will run in conjunction with the Africa's Big Seven Exhibition which is organized by EMS, of Africa.
Africa's Big Seven (AB7), being the only event of its kind anywhere on the continent of Africa, attracts exhibitors and visitors from around the world. The last expo held in July 2007 attracted nearly 7000 qualified trade buyers from 40 countries a much larger than average attendance for a specialised trade show held outside of Europe. Almost 50% of the attendees were owners, managing directors, or directors of companies and could authorise purchases for their business!
The agricultural sector is the awakening giant of Africa and very significant calls have been made from the continent and elsewhere for a dramatic refocusing of attention and funds to support Africa in this regard. Exhibition Management Services and Agrifica have therefore again joined forces to present the second Agribusiness Africa Exhibition & Conference in parallel with the AB7 to create a unique business platform that will facilitate a rapid and significant intervention in the development of agriculture in Africa. Various project development and supply opportunities exist in Africa for local and international companies and the Agribusiness Africa Exhibition is the platform where business contacts will be made and networks developed that will change the face of agriculture and agribusiness in Africa.
This prestigious and very relevant event will focus on the technology, inputs, finance and trade necessary to make agribusiness in Africa work by linking markets to resources. This is done by creating a business platform that brings producers, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, processors, marketers, development and aid organisations and financial institutions, as well as equipment, inputs and service providers in contact each other to stimulate and develop the business of agriculture in Africa. A large number of delegates from other African countries visited the AB7 last year and this number is expected to grow significantly both in quality and quantity this year. Nearly 90% of visitors made new business contacts at the event.
The Agribusiness Africa Conference will run from 21-22 July 2008 and will focus on the themes of Financing Agribusiness in Africa, Intra-Africa trade, meeting the standards required by major buyers and will provide a platform for the following ten countries to showcase their agribusiness sectors; Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zambia
