Sponsorship for young agricultural journalist to IFAJ congess

Wonderful news – the Federal Press Service in Austria has made three sponsorships available for young agricultural journalists to attend the world conference of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) in Austria and Slovenia later this year. One of these sponsorships has been allocated to South Africa.

Agricultural Writers SA urgently calls for members younger than 30 years to apply. The conference is from 10 to 14 September. The Austrian Government will pay for the flight ticket and the conference fee, that includes the hotel fare and meals. The winner will only have to provide his or her own spending money.

Anyone wishing to apply must forward a comprhensive motivation to me, stating why you wish to go and what you would do with information gained from the congress (various agricultural tours are planned during the congress).

As a member of the executive committee of the IFAJ, I will represent South Africa.

Please e-mail your application to me at cvanrooy@landbou.com before 10:00 on Friday,
13 June, as the national executive needs to decide on the winner and inform the Austrians by Sunday, 15 June.

Borgskap vir jong landboujoernalis na IFAJ-kongres

Wonderlike nuus - Oostenryk se Federale Persdiens het drie borgskappe bewillig om jong landboujoernaliste in staat te stel om later vanjaar die węreldkongres van die Internasionale Federasie van Landboujoernaliste (IFAJ) in Oostenryk en Slowenië by te woon. Een van die borgskappe is aan Suid-Afrika toegesę.

Hiermee wag Landbouskrywers SA dus nou dringend aansoeke in van jong lede van ons vereniging (jonger as 30 jaar) om die besoek mee te maak. Dit duur van 10-14 September. Die Oostenrykse regering betaal vir die vliegtuigkaartjie en kongresfooi, wat hotelverblyf en maaltye insluit. Dus moet die wenner van die beurs slegs sy/haar eie sakgeld saamneem.

Enigiemand wat lus is om te gaan, moet asb ’n deeglike motivering aan my stuur. Daarin moet jy sę hoekom jy wil gaan en wat jy met die inligting gaan doen wat jy daar gaan insamel (daar is verskeie landboutoere tydens die kongres).

Terloops, ek gaan ook namens Suid-Afrika, want ek dien op die uitvoerende bestuur van die IFAJ.

Stuur jou aansoek asb. per e-pos aan my (cvanrooy@landbou.com) voor 10:00 op Vrydag, 13 Junie aangesien die Nasionale Dagbestuur daarna moet besluit wie die wenner is en die Oostenrykers teen Sondag, 15 Junie moet verwittig.
